Painting Business Web Site Project Moving Forward

Exciting news! We just got an email from Bill our (web developer & programmer) and he told me that he is ready to move the web site development project forward.

If you:
  • Have an existing web site but it needs improvement... we can help.
  • Don't have a web site yet... we can help.

  • If you would like help marketing your web site and optimizing it for better ranking in the search engines... we can help with that too!
We will be ironing out the details over the next two weeks and I will be posting up-dates on this blog as they happen.

for now, if you would like to be kept in the loop just send an email with "Web Site" in the subject line to info@StartAPaintingBusiness.com and be sure to tell us a little about your business and whether or not you currently have a web site.

In fact if you do have a web site, feel free to put a link to it in the email and we will share some tips and ideas about how to market it.

Here are two important tips to be aware of
when designing your web site:

  1. Stay away from dark backgrounds with white text. You want to make sure that your web site is easy to read, and one of the best ways to do that is to use a light color background with black text.

Avoid the temptation to use a bunch of different color or different font text... Uniformity is the key to a clean look and feel.

  2. When writing copy for your web site NEVER USE ALL CAPITAL LETTERS. (I learned this one the hard way)

When I first started doing business online, I would write EVERYTHING in capital letters because I thought it was easier to read. It's not, in fact using all capital letters indicates that you are SHOUTING!

I DID NOT KNOW THAT... Sorry I mean, I did not know that. See how much better that sounds using my indoor voice. :-)
If you have a comment about anything web site related please feel free to post it.
