Big Difference Between Massive Action and Consistent Action

What's the secret to success? ACTION.

You see, whether it's running your painting business, losing weight or any other goal you want to accomplish... it's going to take action!

Action typically comes in two forms:

  1. Massive Action - which is helpful for getting off to a fast start. The massive action philosophy is all about doing as much as possible in the shortest amount of time...

You probably know the saying "throw as much mud against the wall and see what sticks" right? That's what massive action is all about.

  2. Consistent Action - which is the key ingredient for continued and long term success...

Consistent Action is all about doing SOMETHING (regardless of how small) every day towards the accomplishment of the goal.
One of the biggest mistakes we see painting business owners make when just getting started is that they take Massive Action for a few days and then sit and wait to see what's going to happen.

If their efforts don't produce any results, they may come to the conclusion that what they're doing doesn't work and give up...

On the other hand if their efforts do produce some results, many times they will stop taking action to concentrate on the work at hand, which stops the forward momentum.

Although it's easy to drum up work by taking massive action, once the work is complete it's back to square one. Whereas taking consistent action can produce a steady flow of business without the slowdowns in between.

Here is a simple "Hybrid Action Process" that incorporates both "Massive Action" & "Consistent Action" and will help you to focus your attention on a few specific areas that will have a powerful positive impact on the success of your painting business.

It is based on taking 4 simple action steps, taken just 3 days a week...

It goes like this:
  1. Hand out 10 business cards

  2. Put out 5 pole signs and 5 intersection signs

  3. Make 3 follow-up or new contact calls

  4. Canvas at least 25 surrounding houses with door hangers or a flier
Look at what you will accomplish in just one week:
  • You will have made 30 new contacts...
  • put up 15 pole signs & 15 intersection signs...
  • made nine follow-up or new contact calls...
  • and notified 75 homeowners with door hangers or fliers in the area where you are working!
When you make a commitment to do these simple things on a weekly basis you will always have jobs on the books...

...And a growing list of satisfied customers that you can market to over and over again.

The key to the "Hybrid Action Process" is consistency...

Make it a goal to follow this process for one month before you judge it's effectiveness. You will be amazed at the impact it will have on your business and your income!
